Warriors potential Kelly Oubre Jr. sign-and-trade with the Dallas Mavericks

Lastly, we have a trade that’s been talked about before.

The Mavericks add Oubre Jr., and in doing so, they give Luka Doncic another weapon that can create. The Mavs have had trouble getting much playmaking from players outside of Doncic and Tim Hardaway Jr.

Oubre Jr. could give them that, and despite being skilled players, both Dwight Powell and Dorian Finney-Smith aren’t necessarily players that are worth turning down this deal over. They’ve been competent pieces in their postseason run.

Powell is a versatile big man and would allow the Warriors to have another player that could get minutes in a small-ball lineup. As for Finney-Smith, he’d give perimeter shooting and defense, traits the Dubs are always looking towards.

The Warriors need those role players as their stars will get more of the attention next season. That’s why this is a win-win deal, especially since it should be something Oubre Jr. would agree to.
