2 – Toronto Raptors select Jalen Suggs

Jalen Suggs pushed his name into the top-three discussion after an electric run in the NCAA March Madness Tournament. His half-court game-winner was an exclamation point but Suggs showed much more than that in his freshman year at Gonzaga.

Suggs is a combo-guard. He is comfortable seeking out his own shot or creating plays for others. The 20-year-old put up 14.4 points and 4.5 assists per game on over 50 percent shooting from the field.

In addition to being a well-rounded offensive talent, Suggs has potential on defense. Although he’s a bit undersized at 6’4″, he has a good understanding of positioning and enough athleticism to make some exceptional plays.

The Toronto Raptors would have their star of the future in Suggs. He can learn a lot from playing behind Kyle Lowry and will be a nice young asset to pair with Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby moving forward.
