4 – OrlandoMagic select Evan Mobley
Even Mobley is simply too enticing as a prospect for him to fall much farther in the order. A seven-footer with nimble feet and a 3-point shot? Sign me up.
The Orlando Magic recently cut their losses and committed to a full-rebuild by trading both Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic at the deadline. This leaves them with an empty frontcourt that is perfect for Mobley to step in as their centerpiece.
Mobley’s floor spacing and size match well with backcourt prospects like RJ Hampton and Markelle Fultz. It isn’t a home run, but this is a good start to Orlando’s rebuild.
5 – Oklahoma City Thunder select Scottie Barnes
The Thunder have loaded up so many draft picks recently, they are bound to hit with one of them. Scottie Barnes might be a risk at five due to his streaky shooting but he’s more than talented enough to warrant this selection.
Barnes has great size and a wingspan over seven feet. His upside as a 3-and-D prospect sets him apart from the rest of his peers as he fits the mold of a Paul George, Jaylen Brown and Jimmy Butler immediately.
