6 – Detroit Pistons select Jonathan Kuminga

Jonathan Kuminga could certainly bump his draft stock up in the combine and through workouts but as of now, I don’t think it’s far-fetched to see him drop to sixth here. If so, the Detroit Pistons would likely jump on this opportunity.

Kuminga is a versatile forward who can handle the ball and attack the rim at a high rate. He finished fewer than 40 percent of his attempts in the G-League, but he could develop into a swiss army knife at the NBA level due to his size and ball-handling ability.

7 – Cleveland Cavaliers select Jalen Johnson

The Cleveland Cavaliers are hitting a breaking point already in their rebuild. While Collin Sexton and Darius Garland have shown promise, the front office is feeling pressure to break out of the lottery and compete for a playoff spot.

For this reason, a prospect like Jalen Johnson makes sense. He’s a bit more polished offensively than other players in this class. Johnson shot 52 percent from the floor and 44 percent from deep as a freshman at Duke. He’s an athletic wing who can play small-ball four in the event that Cleveland finally moves on from Kevin Love this season.

It isn’t the best outcome for the Cavs, but Johnson at seven is one they will live with.
