12 – San Antonio Spurs select Moses Moody
It feels weird to see the San Antonio Spurs trudging through a rebuild after decades of dominance but this seems like the path they will be on for the foreseeable future. The Spurs have promising young players on the roster but will be stuck in the middle of the pack until they land a higher pick.
Nonetheless, Moses Moody is a reliable pickup for the Spurs. He averaged close to 17 points per game and hit over 35 percent of his 3-point attempts.
13 – Indiana Pacers select Kai Jones
Kai Jones might be the biggest sleeper pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. At 6’11” with good mobility and a never-ending motor, Jones will be a valuable producer to whoever drafts him. Jones can be a good rim protector and floor-spacer with some development.
The Indiana Pacers are a bit crowded in the frontcourt with both Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis but could clear out one of them to make room for Jones and bring in new assets.
14 – Golden State Warriors select Franz Wagner
To cap off the draft, the Dubs select Franz Wagner, an experienced wing from Michigan. Wagner has two seasons of college basketball under his belt and is more NBA-ready than some of his peers.
Wagner is a semi-reliable 3-point shooter and can be trusted with the ball in his hands on offense. He rounds out some of the Warriors’ bench issues and has enough size to be a net-positive defender.
