Golden State Warriors should consider Danny Green

It is no coincidence that Danny Green routinely finds himself playing a starting role with title contenders every year. He has everything you could ask for from a role player.

Reasons to pursue

Green is the prototypical 3-and-D role player that has become so prevalent in the NBA. We know exactly what to expect from Green at this point. Reliable shooting, sound defense and smart decision making.

The Philadelphia 76ers have benefitted from Green’s veteran experience all year long. He’s won a championship with three separate teams and is battling for a fourth this year. I can’t imagine any reason the Warriors wouldn’t want Green on the team.

Reasons to pass

With that being said, Green does come with some complications. He is entering his mid-30’s and has regressed athletically over the last two seasons. And, he isn’t much of a threat on offense outside of his 3-point shooting.

Nonetheless, Green is the perfect vet to add to this roster. It might be tough to sign him considering he’s making $15 million a year currently. But, another chance at a title might encourage Green to sign for less.

Verdict: Pursue
