Golden State Warriors free agent frontcourt target: JaVale McGee

Another player the Warriors must consider is JaVale McGee.

McGee would come in and provide athleticism and length in the frontcourt. He would be a more experienced Wiseman who would have a better understanding of his role. McGee would be ideal in the pick-and-roll as well.

Having been around the block throughout his 12-year career, McGee was most recently with the Denver Nuggets, but he didn’t play much in the Mile High City. He would have a role with Golden State, and they could use his energy.

It’s not just his hustle but also his 7-foot-6 wingspan that would benefit the Warriors. Add on a career 57.1 field goal percentage, and it’s obvious that McGee’s skillset would be useful in the Bay Area.

He’s not the big-name, high-upside star the Warriors could use, but he’s a veteran that’s been with the Warriors before and would be able to slide in and immediately contribute. It would a win-win signing.
