Golden State Warriors should trade Wiseman for: John Wall

While he’s the All-Star-caliber player that he once was, John Wall proved that he can still provide solid minutes and good upside. Wall could’ve had a shot in the buyout market, but the Rockets decided to hang on to the veteran point guard.

Wall averaged 20.6 points per game. That looks great, right? Well, per usual with Wall, he struggled to score efficiently, barely topping 40 percent from the field. Forcing the ball in half-court settings as Christian Wood missed several weeks was ugly at times.

Potentially giving off Derrick Rose vibes, Wall has the chance to be a great sixth man on a contending team. However, set to make over $44 million next season, the Rockets may have to trade picks to get off his contract.

If the Warriors can get off Wiggins contract and also bring back more assets, it could be worth it. This would be tough to make work financially, and given Wiggins success, it may be even more unlikely.

Wall likely won’t be with Houston too long as the veteran needs to spend his last productive seasons on a contending team. We’ll see if he manages all next season with the Rockets even on that relatively untradeable contract.
