Golden State Warriors should trade Wiseman for: Jimmy Butler

The Miami Heat were disappointments in the playoffs this season. They managed to get to the NBA Finals last season just to struggle throughout the year and then be swept by the Bucks in the first round.

While there are no reports that the Heat are moving on from Butler, his gritty nature could bode well in the Bay Area. If he could fit alongside Stephen Curry and Thompson, the boost to the team’s defense could be worth the cost.

Butler signed a four-year deal worth over $140 million which will end following the 2022-2023 season, so he still has a few seasons under contract.

Trading Wiggins and Wiseman would again be the move, but after failing to show his stardom during the playoffs, the Heat likely wouldn’t get much more. With Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo, it could be just a matter of time before they move on from Butler.

Butler averaged 21.5 points per game this season, the second most of his career. At 31, he’s exiting his prime. This could be a win-win deal as the team would get a solid third option if the two sides could manage to make the exchange of pieces work.
