Golden State Warriors should trade James Wiseman

Even with the return of Klay Thompson, which is set to give the Golden State Warriors an astronomical boost of both 3-point shooting and perimeter defense, the general consensus is this team is missing at least one more piece before being comfortable contenders.

The depth outside of Thompson, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins is pretty shallow. Especially, if Kelly Oubre leaves this summer. Which, it seems like he might be already gone.

In this case, the Warriors can either opt to see if Wiseman makes a significant leap in development, one great enough to make him a key rotational player by next season — or, the Dubs can trade Wiseman for more assets.

It’s that straightforward. If the Warriors want to maximize their shot at winning a title in the next few seasons, they trade Wiseman and go for broke. And, there is a fairly good reason to go all-out and do right by the Warriors’ big three who deserve another chance at winning a title before they flame out of their primes.

As to who the Warriors would trade for, that’s up for debate. If you’re interested in seeing the potential candidates, here is a list.
