How do the two compare stats-wise over the course of their careers and across the 2020-21 season?

Although Porzingis was clearly seen as the more valuable prior to the start of the season, their offensive numbers are surprisingly similar across the course of their careers. Wiggins averages 19.5 points per game for his career, shooting 45 percent from the field and 34 percent from three-point range.

Porzingis has averaged 18.7 points on 48 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range. With his long frame, Porzingis clearly has Wiggins covered in rebound and block shots, while neither are considered a playmaker.

Across the 2020-21 season, both players are even more remarkably similar from an offensive perspective.

Wiggins averaged 18.6 points per game on 48 percent from the field and 38 percent from three-point range, whilst Porzingis averaged 20.1 points per game also on 48 percent from the field and 38 percent from deep.

Wiggins was a much improved, versatile defender who increased his block shots to exactly one per game, while Porzingis averaged a career-worst 1.3 blocks per game.

Contract Situations

Both players are now on what most would consider as player-friendly contracts over the next couple of seasons. Wiggins has two years and just over $65 million left on his five-year contract, whilst Porzingis has three years and $101.5 million left on his contract.
