Golden State Warriors frontcourt target: Daniel Theis

Another big man hitting the market is former Celtics center, Daniel Theis.

Theis was traded from Boston in a deal that was headlined by Daniel Gafford being sent to Washington. Now a free agent, Theis should have quite the market. While Zeller is older, Theis is only 29.

The 6-foot-8 center will likely take the best offer on the table, but the Warriors should present an intriguing option. A much better shooter than Zeller, Theis averaged 9.6 points per game last season, drilling 0.8 threes per game as well.

It’s not next-level shooting, but he is good enough to keep defenses honest. While Theis wouldn’t be the starter, he would be a solid, gritty backup that presents more offensive weaponry than Kevon Looney. Theis shot 54 percent from the field and 32 percent from deep.

Those are good enough to gain some value from around the league. Considering his size, age, and reputation, the German big man should get multiple offers, and one of them will hopefully be from Golden State.

Verdict: Pursue
