Golden State Warriors frontcourt target: Boban Marjanovic

The 7-foot-4 Serbian big man is hitting the open market, and on the right team, he could thrive. However, I’m not sure Golden State is the right team, although I think I can speak for the entire fanbase when I say his personality would be extremely fun to have in the Bay Area.

As for his play, Boban is used in that DeMarcus Cousins-like role. Averaging under ten minutes per game in each of his last two seasons, Boban is more of a specialty player that can come in and shake things up.

For the Mavs, he averaged 4.7 points per game on 51 percent shooting. Now, he can play without fouling, averaging just 3.9 fouls per 36 minutes.

He does have that on his side, but given that the Warriors like to play small-ball lineups and already have an ultra-athletic, rim-protecting big man, it doesn’t seem like a great fit.

Boban’s ability to engage and entertain is something else though, and having formed a relationship with Luka Doncic, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the two team back up in Dallas for another year or two.

For now, Boban is a pass as the fit just isn’t here all things considered.

Verdict: Pass
