Golden State Warriors should pursue Reggie Jackson

Speaking of stepping up when your number is called, Reggie Jackson has been electric for the LA Clippers when they needed him most.

It truly sucks to see Kawhi Leonard out indefinitely with a potential knee injury. Especially considering he was building a good argument as the best player in the playoffs before this. However, Kawhi’s fall has opened up the door for a surprisingly fun version of Reggie Jackson.

Don’t get me wrong, watching Jackson play hero ball can be concerning. In fact, his tunnel vision behavior has been the biggest criticism of him for quite some time. Nevertheless, Reggie is pretty dang good when he’s rolling offensively.

In a pivotal Game 5 in Utah, Reggie posted 22 points and drilled monumental buckets down the stretch to put LA over the top with a 3-2 edge in the series. This was his fourth 20+ point performance of the postseason and a reminder that Jackson can score in a multitude of ways when he’s feeling himself.

A good question remains as to whether or not Jackson is a good fit in Golden State’s offense. However, the Dubs have a clear need for a shot creator on their bench and Jackson fulfills that role. The Warriors should certainly consider signing him if he’s available for a cheap price.
