The Golden State Warriors finished the season with a 39-22 record. Sadly, after losing to the Lakers and then to the Grizzlies in the play-in tournament, they weren’t able to convert that No. 8 seed into a playoff berth.

Given the number of injuries the postseason, it may have been a good thing Golden State avoided it, especially since they weren’t true title contenders this season. With Kelly Oubre Jr. and James Wiseman healthy, they could’ve been knocking on the door though.

After missing the playoffs, the Golden State Warriors have a few obvious needs that they need to correct this offseason in order to become title contenders.

Next season, they’ll get Wiseman back, likely lose Oubre Jr., and hopefully see Klay Thompson return to the court. The Warriors roster should largely remain unchanged aside from the few lottery picks they’ll have, assuming the Timberwolves pick conveys in this draft.

Golden State was a flawed team this season though, and they weren’t primed for a true title run for a couple of reasons. Thompson’s return will help, but this offseason, Bob Myers and company need to make a few big-time moves.

Let’s dive into what the Warriors obviously are going to need to be better next year.
