The Golden State Warriors need playmaking behind Andrew Wiggins

For the Golden State Warriors to have the type of bench they want next season they’ll need to add playmaking behind Andrew Wiggins.

While Juan Toscano-Anderson will be back on the roster, he’s more of a spot-up shooter that feeds off spacing the court. JTA had over 80 percent of his two-point field goals assisted on and over 90 percent of his threes assisted on. He thrives off being the beneficiary of the ball movement.

The Warriors could be a player that kicks off that movement and/or can create his own shot.

Last season, that type of player on the market was former Warriors’ guard Alec Burks. Burks or PJ Dozier both could be solid options. The problem is that, while they’ll likely remain on a team’s second unit next season, they may still out-price Golden State.

Bringing back Kent Bazemore could also solve the problem as he’d move back to the bench and be able to captain that unit. Nonetheless, Damion Lee, JTA, Eric Paschal, and Mychal Mulder aren’t going to cut it, especially considering there isn’t much experience in that four-man group.

Without much cap space, it could be tough for Golden State to pull anything like this off.
