The Golden State Warriors need a consistent, veteran big man

The Golden State Warriors were forced into almost strictly small-ball lineups for the entire month of February. Both rookie center James Wiseman and veteran Kevon Looney missed a large portion of the month.

Wiseman also missed the last several weeks and the play-in tournament. Even when on the court, he was a fouling machine at times. Along those lines, Looney struggled to score this past season and hasn’t been as impactful as the team hoped he would be.

Not just for the depth but potentially to play in late-game situations, the Warriors need to look into adding a big man. Cody Zeller or JaVale McGee are a few of the ones I took a deeper look at here.

Golden State ranked 29th in center points per game. While two-time MVP Stephen Curry and SF Andrew Wiggins took up the bulk of the shots, the team needed more from the five. Zeller or McGee could help deliver a greater impact than the Warriors received this past season.

Obviously, the Warriors could use a fourth big-name star, but aside from that, the team could use a veteran big and a playmaking small forward.
