Golden State Warriors should sign Alec Burks

A familiar face for Golden State Warriors fans, Alec Burks could make a triumphant return to the Bay Area if he chooses not to stay on the other coast.

Burks joined the New York Knicks last summer and had one of the strongest seasons of his career as a sixth man. He scored 12.7 points per game on 41.5 percent 3-point shooting, becoming a key reason the Knicks jumped out to the fourth-best record in the East.

Once in the playoffs, Burks again elevated his game. He scored 27 points in the opening showdown versus Atlanta, connecting on 9-of-13 attempts. While he fizzled out in the following four games, Burks finished the series averaging 14.0 points overall as a sixth man.

Burks offers size and versatility to the offensive end. He’s more than comfortable creating his own shot and he’s already had the opportunity to play in Golden State just a year ago. Burks can make an easy transition to the Bay and it’s likely the MLE is right in his price range this summer.
