Golden State Warriors should sign Derrick Rose

Another member of the New York Knicks, Derrick Rose, should be on the Golden State Warriors’ radar. The youngest MVP in NBA history has to be hungry to chase a title at the back end of his career and he can do just that in Golden State.

Rose finished as a top-three candidate for Sixth Man of the Year this season, boasting stats of 14.7 points and 4.7 assists. His game has evolved quite a bit since the days of simply being faster and jumping higher than everyone else. Rose is now a semi-reliable 3-point shooter and a potent mid-range threat. Even with his loss of athleticism, Rose is still a difficult player to stop on the perimeter.

The Knicks benefitted greatly from Rose’s shifty ball handling in the playoffs. He was able to knife to the hoop relentlessly and scored 30 points in Game 3. This type of explosion off the bench is exactly what can help the Warriors compete next season.

Serving as a backup to Stephen Curry, Rose will have a field day running in the Warriors’ free-flowing offense. He’s a willing passer and a vet who has been through it all at this point. Nothing would make basketball fans happier than seeing Rose compete on a contender once again.
