Golden State Warriors should sign Reggie Jackson
The Golden State Warriors are hurting for a player who can step up when times get rough and command the tempo of a game. Reggie Jackson has shown he can do just that by being one of the catalysts in a 25-point comeback versus the Utah Jazz recently.
Watching Reggie play in the second round of the NBA Playoffs was unreal. He became a go-to guy with the game on the line, drilling contested jump shots and quite literally targeting Rudy Gobert in the paint on drives to the hoop. It felt like a fevered dream when Jackson bodied the reigning Defensive Player of the Year on a layup attempt.
Yet, it was the reality. Jackson posted 27 points and 10 assists in the LA Clippers Game 6 effort to advance to the Western Conference Finals. He’s averaging 16.6 points on 50/43/90 shooting splits and is looking like the creator Golden State needs.
Adding Jackson to their bench unit and relying on him to provide timely scoring during the playoffs would be huge for the Dubs. If there is any player they target with the MLE, it has to be Jackson.
