Who should the Golden State Warriors want to win it all?

Now, we’re down to just four.

The Golden State Warriors are sadly not one of the last four teams in the NBA. We’ve known they wouldn’t be for a while after the Memphis Grizzlies knocked them out of the playoffs in the Dubs second play-in tournament game. Golden State lost to the Lakers in the No. 7 vs. No. 8 game.

With just four teams remaining in the NBA playoffs, who should the Golden State Warriors and their diehard fanbase want to win the 2021 NBA Championship?

The Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns are all that remain. Let’s just say very few people could’ve predicted it would’ve been those four, especially as Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, and James Harden were all recently knocked out in Game 7 scenarios.

So, who do we have left?

The Clippers who knocked off the Mavericks in seven games and then the Jazz will take on the Suns. They’re already down 1-0. Without Kawhi Leonard, it could be tough for them to get back in that series, but they’ve yet to lose from home.

As we’ve seen before, these can be lengthy series, and this one still has quite a bit left in it. As for Phoenix, they were without Chris Paul in Game 1 but were led by their superstar Devin Booker who recorded a triple-double.

That’s the Western Conference Finals.

In the Eastern Conference, somehow, someway the Hawks went into Philadelphia and knocked off the Sixers in a Game 7. That is not easy. Trae Young didn’t dominate, but the Hawks still got the job done.

They’ll be heavy underdogs against the Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Bucks, who barely escaped the Nets. Despite heroics from Durant late in the game, the Nets still couldn’t pull it out, and now the Bucks will take on the Hawks.

That then begs the question: Who should the Warriors want to win it all?

In my opinion, it would boil down to who you like the most.

Some love to hate Chris Paul, meaning they wouldn’t want the Suns to win. But, if a Warriors fan wants any hope of the Dubs trading for Paul George or signing Leonard, they need the Clippers to lose prior to the NBA Finals.

In the East, the Warriors have no reason to root against the Hawks. If they want any future claim to Giannis, they won’t want Milwaukee winning a championship. However, the chance for Giannis to the Bay Area is extremely slim anyway.

That said, at the end of the day, root for whoever you want to win. For Dubs fans, the underdog Hawks make the most sense, but even that pick isn’t the most logical.
