The Golden State Warriors are expected to have multiple lottery picks in the upcoming NBA Draft, and if the Minnesota Timberwolves pick conveys to No. 4, then the Warriors have a “no brainer” decision in Gonzaga guard Jalen Suggs.

Suggs helped take Gonzaga to the NCAA National Championship game this past season. His game-winning buzzer-beating halfcourt shot against UCLA was arguably the highlight of the tournament.

Despite having Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry, one NBA Draft analyst thinks the Golden State Warriors should take Jalen Suggs if they get a top-5 pick.

He had a phenomenal tournament run, but does that make him a lock to be a top-5 pick in the upcoming draft? Most analysts have him going before the Warriors’ potential pick at No. 4. The Warriors would also have to have luck on their side to even get No. 4.

The Wolves do have over a 70 percent chance of their pick landing from 4-10 and conveying to Golden State, but to get Suggs, it might take a top-5 pick as he’ll be one of the top guards off the draft board.

If the Dubs do get that pick, one analyst thinks that Suggs would be a “no-brainer.”

"“If you’re talking about NBA ready — it’s Jalen Suggs all the way. He could play both backcourt positions behind Steph [Curry] and Klay Thompson,” draft analyst Chad Ford said on the Locked on Warriors podcast with Wes Goldberg via NBA Sports’ Drew Shiller.“I think he’s a no-brainer for them if he is there at four,” he continued with."

A five-star recruit for basketball and a high-level recruit for football, Suggs opted to play basketball at Gonzaga. He averaged 14.4 points per game and was a decorated freshman athlete, winning multiple WCC accolades.

Suggs can do just about everything on the court. He’s an elite athlete, so rebounding comes naturally.

He’s a solid three-point threat as well, shooting 33.7 percent from deep. His athleticism and control with the ball are what’s really impressive. He has a high basketball IQ, and that’s not something easily taught.

On top of being a great athlete, Suggs can do it all, averaging 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.9 steals as a freshman. He shot 50.3 percent from the field as well. It was a highly impressive season from the 20-year-old guard.

With Jalen Green rising up draft boards, Suggs, as seen in Sir Charles In Charge’s most recent mock draft, could drop to No. 4. That would be incredible if he drops and the Warriors have the pick.
