Stephen Curry’s former teammate Warriors should sign: Alec Burks

Alec Burks signed with the Warriors after a disappointing stint with Cleveland and Sacramento after parting ways with his long-time franchise, the Utah Jazz.

Burks thrived with the Warriors, but it didn’t matter much as their team was awful without Curry involved. Burks did play well enough to get traded though, being coupled with Robinson III for three second-round draft picks.

Burks never found his footing in Philadelphia but signed with the Knicks in the offseason and immediately started to thrive. He played well in New York and performed well on the brightest stages.

The veteran guard averaged 15 points per game during his combined stint with the Warriors and Sixers. That dropped to 12.7 per game with the Knicks, but that’s still an impressive average for a player typically on a veteran’s minimum contract.

Shooting 42 percent from the field and a capable three-point shooter, Burks would be an ideal addition as a playmaker behind Andrew Wiggins. That would be a perfect role for him, and hopefully, he can experience the winning culture this time around.

For now, he may out-price Golden State, especially if New York looks to retain the 6-foot-6 wing.
