Stephen Curry’s former teammate Warriors should sign: JaVale McGee

JaVale McGee has been around the block. To end this past season, he spent time behind MVP Nikola Jokic. He didn’t get many minutes, especially in the playoffs with the Joker taking up the bulk of the time at the five.

McGee is a three-time NBA Champion. He’s been on a few of the best teams in the modern-NBA era, and he’s proven his worth. No longer expecting big-time minutes, McGee is more of a specialty weapon off the bench.

During the last few minutes against the Suns, McGee did play well. For a team that would desperately crave frontcourt depth, the 7-foot veteran could provide some crucial minutes and even potentially end games instead of Kevon Looney or James Wiseman.

Having averaged under ten minutes per game in both years he was in Golden State, McGee should find a better role this time around. With Looney and Wiseman both having been injured and the team lacking size, McGee would fit in well with either unit.

The 33-year-old has topped 60 percent from the field for four of his last five seasons. That’s the type of efficiency Golden State needs, and he’s certainly a player they should consider signing.
