Ben Simmons doesn’t have enough heart to play for the Golden State Warriors
Ben Simmons did not play particularly well in the playoffs against Atlanta. However, if there was one thing that was most troubling about his performance, it was his complete, absolute lack of heart at all times.
Simmons looked disinterested with the season on the line. He showed no urgency or aggressiveness. At different points in the fourth quarter of Game 7, he opted out of easy drives to the hoop for passes to the perimeter. We all saw him ignore an easy dunk opportunity, but it was a problem that was prevalent all series long.
Udonis Haslem took more shots in the only quarter he played this season (2 shots in 3 mins) than Ben Simmons did the last 6 4th quarters (1 shot in 44 mins).

Simmons was petrified of the moment. He wanted no parts in lifting his team to a much-needed victory. And, when asked about his lackluster performance, he showed relatively no accountability.
Ben Simmons: "We lost. It sucks. I am who I am, it is what it is. It's not easy to win and it shows. Nets got finished by the Bucks, it's not easy to win."

This is not the type of player the Warriors want representing them when the going gets tough. The Dubs have serious championship aspirations and going all-in on a player who showed zero heart in a Game 7 is not the way to build a contender.
