The Philadelphia 76ers combination of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid may not last much longer as the former is under immense heat after his brutal performance against the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Most think the Sixers are going to move on from the former No. 1 overall pick in the coming months. While there’s not much traction to any rumors yet, the reasoning is there. With just that thought, the nosedive into where Simmons could end up has become all too real.

After a disappointing playoff series, Ben Simmons trade rumors’ are running rampant. Could the Golden State Warriors be an option?

The Golden State Warriors aren’t a team that’s been linked to Simmons over the year, but one NBA analyst thinks that they could be the perfect franchise to bring in the pass-first point guard. That one analyst is none other than Colin Cowherd.

"“I’ll say this again. Golden State is perfect. Steph on one side. Klay on the other. He’d be a bigger Draymond Green,” Cowherd said via The Herd."

Now, to most people, this wouldn’t make sense. Cowherd somehow tried to make it make sense, and it still doesn’t really.

Simmons would be a great fit with Golden State if Draymond Green isn’t there. Green understands the dynamic of playing with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson which is something one shouldn’t take for granted.

While Simmons does have good numbers, he wouldn’t be a better distributor in this offense than Green. In transition, he might have an edge, but as a playmaker in the half court, I’d take Green coming off those fake handoffs to Curry.

A three-time All-Star guard, Simmons averaged a career-low 14.3 points per game this past season. His assists and rebounds were also at career-low levels, and while that could be concerning, his Sixers still finished as the best team in the Eastern Conference.

But, because they couldn’t space the floor or knock down big-time shots, they failed to get by the Hawks. In doing so, Simmons destroyed his trade value until he shows that he can start to take and make jump shots.

After all, even Green still occasionally shoots from deep despite seeing his percentage drastically wane over the past few seasons. Ultimately, for a Simmons-to-Golden State trade to work, Green would have to be dealt elsewhere and that’s unlikely.

They cannot co-exist, and with Green having been in Golden State his entire career, this ideology is only going to be just an idea for now.
