With the Golden State Warriors accruing two draft picks in the upcoming NBA Draft, they’ll have big-time pieces that they could trade for a star, and with that possibility comes the rumors that don’t stop.

It doesn’t help that five-time All-Star Klay Thompson is planning to return this coming season. With Thompson and two-time MVP Stephen Curry on the roster along with three-time All-Star Draymond Green, the Warriors will already have a contending roster.

The Golden State Warriors are a team that has the assets to propose a trade that could change the landscape of the NBA. Is this the one they should do?

Who is the right superstar? That’s the first question that needs to be answered. Ben Simmons has had his name swirled around the rumor mill lately, but that doesn’t really make much sense for Golden State.

The Warriors could use a big man to solidify their rebounding, but they have former No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman who will be entering his second season in the NBA. Is Golden State willing to part ways with him?

Now, this Bleacher Report-suggested trade is one both sides should consider. It would be Kelly Oubre Jr. (sign-and-trade) and No. 14 pick for Indiana center Myles Turner. You can read their full explanation along with three other high-profile trades to get lottery teams to the playoffs here.

This trade makes a ton of sense for Golden State. They really don’t need both their lottery picks as they only have limited spots on their roster. Whoever they truly want, they can get at No. 7 anyway.

With Turner only having two years left on his contract, Turner can help take the Dubs out of their glory days. He would give them a capable center that can protect the rim while also space the floor. Wiseman is good, but Turner would come into a franchise that can best utilize his skill set.

Turner averaged the most blocks per game last season at 3.4. That was the second time in his career which he led the NBA. With the ability to space the court, Turner is everything Golden State needs without carrying that massive price tag.

It’s the best of both worlds, but it would all hinge on Kelly Oubre Jr. being willing to do a sign-and-trade and Golden State willing to bear the financial burden, which wouldn’t be a light one. If those work out, then this trade makes sense.
