Golden State Warriors should watch Pascal Siakam

A little less of a star but still worth taking a look at is Pascal Siakam. He isn’t by any means forcing his way out of Toronto. Yet, the Raptors are expected to listen to offers for the 2019 Most Improved Player.

In fact, John Hollinger of The Athletic expects the Warriors to offer James Wiseman and the No. 7 pick for Siakam this summer. Important to note: Andrew Wiggins would have to be included as well to satisfy both sides financially.

This swap makes sense for Toronto, who has to be realistic in accepting Siakam will never be enough to win another title on his own. Flipping him for Wiggins and another pick in a loaded draft seems like a pretty good deal.

As for the Dubs, they upgrade at the forward position and get a player more worthy of his $30 million dollar price tag. Siakam averaged 21.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists last season. He’s a strong slasher with good defensive skills and a championship under his belt.

Some concerns involve Siakam’s consistency from deep. He hovered above 35 percent from deep in his last two seasons but shot below 30 percent this year. It will be tough to play Siakam if he can’t successfully space the floor.
