Golden State Warriors should watch Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic hasn’t given any indication of wanting to leave Dallas just yet but it shouldn’t be off the table moving forward. He hasn’t displayed an overwhelming sense of loyalty to the franchise and there is no reason he should stay if they don’t start to build a contending supporting cast around him.

Doncic was left hanging the last two postseasons. Despite posting historic numbers against the LA Clippers, his teammates mostly underperformed. Or, just weren’t really equipped to compete in the first place.

LeBron James is Luka’s idol, so it’s fitting his first few seasons in Dallas have resembled James’ first stint in Cleveland. The Mavericks better buff this roster before it’s too late.

In the event that Dallas fails, the Warriors should be doing anything and everything to get in the Luka sweepstakes. James Wiseman, Andrew Wiggins, both 2021 NBA Draft picks and any other future picks the Mavericks could ask for — just bring Doncic to the Bay.

There is no question Doncic would have a lucrative career in Golden State. He’s the perfect forward to help the current big three finish their prime days with a few more championships while he is capable of carrying the franchise into the next decade of basketball.

He’s not available just yet, but the Dubs should be watching Doncic.
