Golden State Warriors trades for Pascal Siakam: The Draymond-centric deal

Now, we’re just whipping out a trade that would help the Warriors in the long run. As we noted, Wiggins is the most likely player on a max-value contract to be traded, but he’s one of four that couple make the trade a possibility.

Draymond Green’s been the best passer the Warriors have, but at the same time, if you watched last season much, it was clear he was also a liability on the offensive end at times. While he typically made the right play, his inability to shoot was a problem.

Siakam would give the Warriors a player that could both make the right plays offensively, shoot from deep, and be capable defensively. Now, can he fully replace Green?

No, no one in the NBA could replace what Green brings to the Warriors, and that’s the reason why he’s not going to be dealt this offseason. At the very least, last season proved Green’s lack of shooting is an issue, although it certainly won’t be enough to get him traded.
