Overrated free agent the Warriors should pass on: DeMarcus Cousins

If there’s one thing the Warriors need to add it’s a center. They basically played the entire month of February in small-ball lineups as Juan Toscano-Anderson substituted as a starter since Kevon Looney and James Wiseman went down with an injury.

After spending time with Golden State a few seasons ago, Cousins played to sign with the Lakers. He tore his ACL, recovered and signed with the Rockets. He was bought out of Houston after playing well for short stints.

He then signed with the Clippers and was given minimal time, but he turned some heads while on the court. Cousins averaged 32.9 points per 36 minutes, but considering he was awarded under 60 minutes in the playoffs, the average isn’t quite as impressive.

Cousins is good in stints, but his injury history, his inability to defend the perimeter and his lack of mobility are reasons to not target Cousins.

The big man has had a tremendous career, and while his time in Golden State was moderately successful, it’s highly doubtful they bring him back this offseason.
