Overrated free agent the Warriors should pass on: Paul Millsap

Once a star on the Hawks, forward Paul Millsap is now letting Denver off his extremely player-friendly contract. Now, it should be time for the team-friendly deals to start being the norm for the  6-foot-7 38-year-old.

He averaged 9.0 points per game this past season, the third-lowest average of his 14-year career. Millsap was a four-time All-Star throughout his time in the NBA, and he’s now a capable sixth man.

Given the Warriors’ needs, they may be better off giving the minutes to Eric Paschall who gives a similar style as Millsap.

Unless it’s a minimum-value deal, which the Warriors should consider, they should pass on Millsap. He shot just 47.6 percent from the field, almost two percent under his career average. His three-point shooting was also drastically lower than the season before.

Millsap has had a quality career, but the Warriors would be playing him over Paschall, which, for now, seems like a mistake.
