7 overrated free agents the Golden State Warriors must stay away from
Overrated free agent the Warriors should pass on: JJ Redick
Another player that Golden State may consider is shooting guard JJ Redick. Redick isn’t the player he once was, and he sadly showed that decline this season.
The veteran averaged just 7.4 points per game, his lowest amount since the 2008-2009 season. He still hit 1.5 triples per game but shot just 37 percent from downtown. Last season, Redick split time between Dallas and New Orleans.
He’s now going to be a free agent if he doesn’t retire.
37, Redick’s defensive aptitude would make him a tough fit for Golden State. It’s the opposite of why the Warriors should pass on Tucker. Redick and Curry in the backcourt would get switched on and destroyed by bigs.
The Warriors also have players like Damion Lee and Mychal Mulder, both of which are younger and have proven to be capable shooters. That said, despite his history as one of the best shooters of all time, the Warriors should pass as Redick is just too old at this point in his career.
