Golden State Warriors should pursue Joe Ingles

Continuing down the Kelly Oubre sign-and-trade rabbit hole (this is the last one, I promise), we have a deal that makes more sense for everyone as the Utah Jazz gain a young asset to pair with Donovan Mitchell and the Golden State Warriors receive a glue-guy in return.

Joe Ingles is a fairly natural fit for the Dubs. He can pass, he can shoot and he plays defense. An unselfish player, Ingles slides straight into the rotation and fills in whatever role is asked of him. It’s easy to imagine a successful small-ball lineup featuring Ingles at the four.

Last season, Ingles averaged 12.1 points and 4.7 assists per game. He made a scorching hot 45.1 percent of his 3-point attempts and was an important cog in the machine to the best regular-season team in the NBA.

At 33 years of age, Ingles comes with a cost. It’s likely his time as an effective forward is running out. However, this is an obvious target for Golden State if flipping Oubre is a possibility.
