Golden State Warriors should pursue Derrick Rose
The Golden State Warriors need a backup guard to alleviate Stephen Curry of his duties and I’ve talked about why Derrick Rose is a great fit for this role before. Nevertheless, let’s recap this one more time.
Rose is as experienced as they get. A former league MVP, he’s been through hell and back to get to the status he is right now. He’s recovered from countless injuries and revamped his career to be a Sixth Man of the Year candidate.
This should be appealing to the Dubs who are in need of a steady veteran presence who can lead their bench. Rose does all of this and more, proving a punch of scoring and playmaking to the second unit.
Rose averaged 14.7 points and 4.2 assists last season in New York. And, he reminded us all of how he elevates his game in the postseason, scoring 26 and 30 points in back-to-back games against Atlanta.
Rose will be an unrestricted free agent this summer — making him a candidate to be signed with the MLE.
