Golden State Warriors NBA Draft: Franz Wagner is ideal prospect

Cons of Golden State Warriors taking Franz Wagner in NBA Draft
There is potential for Franz Wagner to become a ‘tweener’, that is, someone who doesn’t really fit any specific position. While this might be less of a problem now that players are actually encouraged to play multiple areas of the floor in a positionless game — it’s still possible Wanger’s frame and lack of top-end athleticism come back to hurt him.
He also has something to prove on the offensive end. His 34.4 percent 3-point clip is respectable but nothing to gawk over just yet. Spacing the floor at a high rate will likely be the make-or-break point for Wagner at the NBA level.
Wagner is still only 19 years old despite playing two NCAA seasons. This means he might have more experience but he isn’t necessarily older or more developed than any of his peers. While you might consider this a pro in some regards, it is also a con, as the Dubs will need a player who is ready to compete from day one.
Nevertheless, Wagner feels like a safe pick at the back end of the lottery. There is an obvious path to success for Wagner if he can fulfill his destine as a perimeter threat and playmaker on the wing. All of this will make him an instant contributor for Golden State if they select him.
