Reason No. 3 why the Warriors should pursue Myles Turner: His contract

The Golden State Warriors should pursue Myles Turner because, unlike other stars, he doesn’t have an outrageous contract. On top of that, his value may not be quite as the level of former All-Star Paschal Siakam.

Turner is set to make $18 million for the next two seasons. If the Dubs can get away with not including James Wiseman in a trade, they could perfectly sync up the timeline of Wiseman’s hopeful upcoming with Turner’s new contract.

Turner was drafted by the Pacers back in 2015.

He was a lottery pick, and in any trade, that’s likely what he’ll command and more. The No. 7 overall pick and then a player like forward Andrew Wiggins or Wiseman may be too much for Golden State.

Turner is impactful, but he’s reached his ceiling.

He’s never going to be the second or maybe even third-best player on a contending team. For that, his value shouldn’t be too high, and given his contract, trading for him is at least manageable which is one reason to pursue the big man.
