Reason No. 2 why the Warriors should pursue Myles Turner: His shooting

Over the last few seasons, the Golden State Warriors’ small-ball lineups have been highly effective because of how much shooting was on the court.

Turner wouldn’t be as much of a sniper as a player like Mychal Mulder, but he’s still a capable three-point shooter which is important. Having a big man that shoots from deep would be beneficial, especially with Draymond Green‘s shooting has waned over the last several seasons.

That said, Turner, in his sixth season in the NBA shot 33.5 percent from deep. He was asked to do more as a main scoring threat though.

When he was more of a shooter with Bojan Bogdanović and Victor Oladipo on the court, he shot almost 40 percent from deep, hitting 38.8 percent of his attempts and drilling 1.0 threes per game.

There aren’t many big men that can shoot as well as Turner. He knocked down a career-high 1.5 triples per game, and with the looks he could be seeing with Curry and Klay Thompson on the court, there’s no reason he can’t near 40 percent again.

His shooting should be a huge reason the Warriors pursue him in a trade.
