Golden State Warriors under-the-radar trade target: Jonas Valančiūnas

Valanciunas was an absolute force for the Memphis Grizzlies last season. He signed as a free agent with the Griz in 2019 and is set to make $14 million this upcoming season, his last under contract.

Val hit career-high levels last season, scoring 17.1 points per game and shooting over 59 percent. On top of that, he continued his dominant work in the paint, collecting 12.5 rebounds, over 4 of which were on the offensive glass.

He did have a small uptick in his three-point shooting which could help keep the floor spaced. Nonetheless, Val proved that he can be a strong center option, and he’s worth looking into given his production and contract.

Now, what the value of a player like Val is may be a completely different story. I couldn’t see the Warriors giving up Wiseman but rather potentially dealing Wiggins and the No. 14 overall pick, maybe also tossing in a plethora of second-round picks or a future first.

Either way, I don’t think the No. 7 or Wiseman would be up for grabs which could be a deal-breaker.
