Golden State Warriors under-the-radar trade target: Christian Wood

Last but not least is Christian Wood.

He’s probably the most high-profile player on this list, but as the current face of Houston, he’s not being talked about much as a trade candidate. It would likely take quite a bit to trade for the 25-year-old Wood.

After exploding onto the scene in Detroit, Wood was signed to a massive contract with the Rockets. However, it’s still not a deal that would see him hit over $15 million in a season.

He was injured for a chunk of the season but ended up averaging 21 points per game in 41 starts. He hit 1.9 triples per game and send back 1.2 blocks per game.  He shot over 50 percent from the field.

Given the contract and his production, the Warriors should certainly look into what it may take to trade for him. He’s capable of both protecting the rim and shooting from deep all on a reasonable salary.

Sign me up. At 25, his value may be pretty high though, so Wiseman and the No. 14 may not even push the needle.
