Golden State Warriors could lose Kelly Oubre to Miami Heat

Outside of the Golden State Warriors, I’m not sure any NBA team makes more sense for Kelly Oubre Jr. than the Miami Heat. From the location to the culture, Miami just seems like a match made in heaven for Oubre.

The Heat have taken pride in being the scrappiest team in basketball for the last few years. Much of this comes from Jimmy Butler, who led them to a surprising NBA Finals berth in the bubble. Though they disappointed last season, there is reason to believe the Heat will be back in contention after a summer full of rest.

Oubre acts as an upgrade for what Jae Crowder used to offer. He’s a younger, more athletic piece to play on the wing and stretch the floor alongside Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson. When you add in his defensive versatility next to Butler and Bam Adebayo, this lineup gets pretty interesting.

There is no reason to assume the Heat won’t go all out for Oubre in the offseason. He fits their needs and matches their timeline for a title. If any team steals Oubre, it will be the Heat.
