It’s been a tough few years for the Golden State Warriors frontcourt.

With Draymond Green‘s three-point shooting taking a hit these past few seasons, the Golden State Warriors have asked more from their center. After Kevin Durant‘s exodus, starting Kevon Looney or a player of his caliber was no longer a great option.

The Golden State Warriors have little cap space to work with this offseason, and one thing they must get done is adding more talent in their frontcourt.

They knew that and drafted James Wiseman. However, the combination of Wiseman and Looney didn’t do great last season. They were both hurt throughout most of the month of February, forcing the Dubs into small-ball lineups.

Marquese Chriss was set to be their third big man, but his injury forced their depth chart to shorten to just the two young centers.

With both struggling and potentially being liabilities next season, the Warriors need to add some talent at the five. Wiseman is expected to be the future of the position but could still be a few years away from contributing at a high level.

Trading for Myles Turner has been a popular idea, but adding a player like that could be costly. Center Cody Zeller is another option that Golden State could look to, and there are many like him on the market.

Golden State needs to ideally figure out what they want and then get that. Do they value outside shooting? If that’s the case, they could then target Frank Kaminsky instead of a traditional big man. Serge Ibaka could be a name to keep in mind if he returns for another season as well.

The options are going to be there, and the draft will be another way they could strengthen their frontcourt. However, they’re going to need to add some talent as the shortage forced their hand many times this past season.

The Warriors averaged the second-fewest points per game from their five.

That must change in the near future, and they can bring in a veteran to ensure some production. However, developing Wiseman if they keep him is also an option. It’s just tough to know how much he can improve, more so on the defensive end.

Frontcourt depth is an issue everyone knows about, and the Warriors should have a plethora of players to target. They just need to make the right decision for the right price.
