Is there any way the Golden State Warriors can capitalize on their current championship window while also building for the future? Well, the front office seems to think so. The franchise hasn’t made a clear step in either direction — straddling between multiple timelines.

The emergence of Jordan Poole has helped inject the team with some quality youth but it could be years before James Wiseman reaches his star potential. What’s more, their two selections in the 2021 NBA Draft might push the Warriors even farther back.

Even so, the front office hasn’t given any indication that they are willing to sacrifice their future for the sake of going all-in on the final years of the big three. Because of this, the team has missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons. Soon, however, the Dubs hope to reclaim their throne.

The Golden State Warriors have fallen off the wagon but one of these eight hypothetical trades could restore their greatness.

If the front office isn’t comfortable dumping all their chips into the next few seasons, they can instead target a star who will be ready to compete for the next decade. This means flipping any amount of expendable assets for the next face of the franchise should be an option.

So, we will now rank the eight best possible trades the Warriors can make if keeping the future in mind is their main goal. These prospects can help the franchise compete now and (hopefully) for years to come. Our list will begin from worst to best.
