Golden State Warriors can target Pascal Siakam

Calling the Toronto Raptors for a trade would likely involve more than just targetting Pascal Siakam — the fourth overall NBA Draft pick would be of interest, as well. I plan on talking about that later, however.

For now, let’s just see what a basic deal for Siakam would look like. After all, the Warriors can potentially negotiate a pick-swap without including both of their heavy hitters in Andrew Wiggins and James Wiseman.

With Siakam as the centerpiece, this is the type of deal Golden State would be looking to make. They take big hits in losing Wiseman, Wiggins and the seventh pick — but regain a star forward and a valuable depth piece.

Siakam is an All-Star, All-NBA member, Most Improved winner and a champion. He’s just entering his prime at 26 years of age and averaging 22.1 points and 7.3 rebounds in the two seasons following Kawhi Leonard’s departure.

The Warriors can use Siakam in a way they never did with Wiggins. His aggressiveness as a slasher and screener makes Siakam an interesting player to match with the Splash Brothers. He would feast in the paint due to his instincts for cutting to the hoop.

To top it off, the Dubs haul Rodney Hood as a bench piece to round out their lineup. Hood is a three-level scorer who can provide solid production as a sixth man.
