Golden State Warriors can target Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

A player who has recently come into trade discussions is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. While Oklahoma City continues to have an unquenchable thirst for draft picks, SGA has been in numerous hypothetical trades as of late. This should interest the Golden State Warriors, as Shai is one of the NBA’s greatest hidden gems.

Gilgeous-Alexander is a silky smooth operator who has made leaps as a scorer and playmaker each season. He just netted a career-high 23.7 points and 5.9 assists, putting him on the borderline All-Star level of NBA players.

With a strong supporting cast, SGA will be a problem for the rest of the league. He’s simply too versatile of a player not to succeed at some point. Slotting him in a three-guard lineup with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson seems like it would be a playground for SGA and his natural instincts as a playmaker.

Of course, the price will be high. Perhaps too high for the Warriors to actually pull the trigger on a deal. Furthermore, SGA will be demanding a large contract extension soon — complicating things even more.

Nonetheless, the Warriors would be foolish not to explore their options here. SGA is destined for years of greatness in this league and he is a great heir to the Stephen Curry throne.
