Golden State Warriors can target Ben Simmons

There is a long list of reasons as to why the Golden State Warriors should avoid Ben Simmons. Regardless, it is hard to deny he could potentially elevate them to new heights. It all depends on a few crucial things.

Firstly, Simmons needs to embrace his role. Ideally? That means sucking it up and playing an unusual role as a power forward who has ball-handling duties. Encouraging Simmons to be aggressive on rolls to the hoop as a more traditional frontcourt player — with the freedom to handle the ball and create plays for others, is the only way Simmons makes sense on the Warriors.

Simmons is a powerful athlete with Defensive Player of the Year qualities. Add his elite playmaking and finishing at the rim — and the Warriors would be suited for multiple championships if all goes well.

As always, there is a risk, however. I find myself hesitant to bet on Simmons buying into his new role and doing whatever it takes to win a championship. Nevertheless, he is certainly a star option the Dubs can’t ignore.
