Free agent Golden State Warriors should pursue: Semi Ojeleye

Ojeleye was a second-round pick back in the 2017 NBA Draft. He’s shown enough to put himself on other team’s radar.

So far in his career, Ojeleye has only played for the Boston Celtics, and he hasn’t seen too many minutes. In 17 minutes per game, Ojeleye averaged 4.6 points per game, the most of his four-year career. The problem so far in his career has been his efficiency.

Over the last two seasons, Ojeleye has yet to shoot over 41 percent from the field. However, players like Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III saw inefficient seasons and then an uptick in efficiency with Golden State.

Ojeleye is an intense defender, and that’s exactly what he could bring to the Warriors. An aggressive defender and a sharpshooter is a player the Dubs should want to bring off their bench. He did near 37 percent from deep, knocking down a three per game.

Combine that with his defense and it’s exactly why Golden State should target the 26-year-old. However, with little cap space, if Ojeleye gets any reasonable valuable offers, the Warriors have no shot at signing him.
