Free agent Golden State Warriors should pursue: Jeff Green

A former top-five pick, Jeff Green has been moving from team to team these last few seasons. Since the end of the 2013-2014 season, he’s played for the Grizzlies, Clippers, Magic, Cavaliers, Wizards, Jazz, Rockets, and Nets.

One reason why he’s jumped around from roster to roster, especially as of late, is because he’s been the perfect veteran for championship-caliber teams to add. Think of Green in a role similar to what the Dubs had Andre Iguodala in.

Green’s got solid defensive instincts and can fire away from deep at a lethal rate, shooting over 41 percent from downtown this past season. He averaged 11 points per game in 68 games and 38 starts with the Nets.

While there doesn’t appear to be any reason for Green to leave Brooklyn, the Nets have been a hotspot for high-caliber free-agent veterans. Blake Griffin could re-sign, causing Green to see a drastically reduced role.

If he’s there for the taking, the Warriors need to jump on signing the now 34-year-old.
