Free agent Golden State Warriors should pursue: Kelly Olynyk

It may be tough to get Olynyk with the Warriors’ tight salary cap, but it would be an excellent addition if they could. At 6-foot-11, Olynyk offers good size. While he’s capable defensively, his strengths lie on the other end of the court.

Olynyk was an absolute monster with the Rockets over their last 27 games. He averaged 19 points per game, shooting a career-high 54.5 percent from the field. If that were his season-long average, it would’ve been the best of his career.

On top of that, he shoots extremely well from deep. Olynyk drilled 1.8 threes per game on 34 percent from deep.

It was a solid year for the now 30-year-old forward. He should be able to get a sizeable contract with those numbers, but at the same time, he doesn’t offer enough to get too many big-time proposals.

While unlikely given how well he finished the season, adding Olynyk would be a huge win for Golden State.
