Free agent Golden State Warriors should pursue: Doug McDermott

Another player that will be available this offseason is sharpshooter Doug McDermott. However, McDermott is in the same situation that Olynyk is in. He’s only 29 and should be able to get a reasonably large contract.

While eight figures annually seems like too much, McDermott should be looking at far more than veteran’s minimum. The Warriors could make the moves necessary to ensure they have the cap space to make that happen.

Would it be worth it though?

McDermott is coming off his best season in the league. He averaged 13.6 points per game and drilled 1.7 threes per game. McBuckets is a career 40 percent three-point shooter. He did hit a career-high 53.2 percent of his shots last season.

While McDermott won’t make the Warriors immediate title contenders, he would be a great addition, especially as a shooter. Unfortunately, it’s likely other teams would outprice the Warriors for McDermott.
